Once the garden beds were weeded, the rains arrived. We thought we would begin planting the garden early this year but Mother Nature had other ideas. Finally the soil dried enough to run the rototiller but after mowing the yard yesterday afternoon Terry was tired. He decided to at least till two of the beds so we could begin planting the 2023 crops.
We planted three of our tomato plants in the one bed. Rain is predicted this afternoon and evening, followed by three nice sunny, warm days. Hopefully the weather will give these plants a good start. Later we will plant a few more of the tomato plants we have growing, under the grow lights, in the basement.
Bed number two. Nothing to see today but there are two rows of green beans waiting for rain and sunshine. This bed is the first of at least three beds of green beans. We try and grow our vegetables plus enough extra for Rebecca and Terry.
