The gardening season is slowly coming to an end. Yesterday Terry picked the last few cucumbers and tore out the vines. The leaves were drying and there were no more blossoms. We were very fortunate this year and harvested a good number of cucumbers. The green peppers aren't doing as well but we have gotten a few. The tomatoes are beginning to ripen now and we are busy chopping and freezing them. The other two buckets show about 2/3 of our carrot crop. Today Terry pulled the rest of the carrots and brought in over half a bucket full. This morning I peeled, cut into pieces, blanched, vacuum packed and froze half of our carrot crop. We have fourteen packets in the freezer for winter eating. Tomorrow I plan on preparing the rest of the carrots for the freezer.
