Yellow and Red

April 30th.  Yesterday was a beautiful day with decent temperatures and plenty of sunshine.  I weeded garden beds and flower beds while Terry mowed and trimmed.  A productive day although we were tired by the end of the day. Last year I was concerned about the health of the little yellow irises.  I didn't want to lose them because I got them from my Aunt Millicent.  I dug them out and replanted them and now they seem happy.

A close-up of the Fern Leaf Peony.  It is now blooming and looking healthy.  I have the last two plants that were taken from my grandmother's original plant. A neighbor gave her the Fern Leaf Peony in the early to mid 1920's and it has become a sort of family heirloom.
