The first week of March feels nothing like the coming Spring weather. It is sixteen degrees this morning, although bright and sunny. The sun and blue sky can be deceiving. It looked so nice that I went out to look for our Winter Aconite. ( Eranthis hyemalis is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae, native to calcareous woodland habitats in France. Italy and the Balkans and widely naturalized elsewhere in Europe.) I found some budding flowers in the flower bed along the east side of the sun room. They might only be buds today but soon the beautiful flowers will open.
The flowers along the north end of the sun room are still hidden under the snow. As soon as the temperature rises and the snow melts, there will be numerous yellow flowers blooming among the ferns. The first sign of Spring.
