Today the weather felt like Spring. A balmy 60 degrees this afternoon and the Winter Aconite blossoms are fully open. Next will be the chore of cleaning out dead leaves and pulling weeds.
The sun doesn't reach the area at the north end of the sun room so those flowers aren't as anxious to show their beautiful faces.
The flower bed in front of the house faces west and enjoys the sun all afternoon. The August Lilies aka Naked Ladies are already starting to show their leaves. If you aren't familiar with these beauties, the leaves sprout in clumps and then gradually die off. When August arrives, stems sprout to at least 18 inches high and have a beautiful light pink lily.on top of each stem. No more leaves grow until next Spring.
