Cucumbers Gone Wild

Normally we plant three cucumber plants in the center of a four foot square bed.  By mid-season, they have spread over the edge of the bed but  not this vigorously.
This year, three plants were given half of a four by sixteen foot bed. The cucumber vines have been attaching themselves to the sweet potato vines in the neighboring bed.  This evening I separated them, hopefully without damage.

In this photo you can see where the cucumbers are invading the territory in the other half of the bed that was meant for the bush cucumber plants.
We have no idea how many cucumbers we have picked but every time we check the vines, we seem to come away with a full bucket.

These three tomato plants were found growing beside the garage. The middle one is a "Husky" cherry tomato plant. The other two plants are also the cherry variety but we don't know what kind.  One of the plants has small pear shaped fruit which leads us to believe that it is one of the yellow variety we grew three years ago.
Watch this blog to see future photos as the plants grow.

An update on the Marigold bed in the middle of the back yard.  The tall center plants are now almost thirty inches tall.  We are especially pleased with the tall Marigolds because this was the first time we started plants from seeds taken from last year's plants.
