This photo shows the eight foot long garden bed that had green bean plants until yesterday. We pulled out the plants that had finished producing beans. This morning Terry planted two more rows of green beans in this bed. We are interested in learning if another crop of beans will mature this late in the season.
The eight foot long bed at the east end of this bed is where we have watermelons growing.
We found five or six watermelons growing in the garden bed and one showed all the signs of being ripe. Wrong! It's edible but not ripe. Once again a melon fooled us into picking it too soon. This seems to happen every year.
The watermelon variety this year is called "Mambo" and is from Park Seed Company.
