We are finally beginning to make more progress in the garden. We found a very small rhubarb plant growing in the mulched walkway and dug it out to save. This is the first baby plant we have had grow from a seed. Last year we allowed some seed pods to mature and scatter their seeds. We also saved a few seeds in order to try growing some new plants. The natural baby plant (lower right) is looking healthy so we decided to try planting a few seeds. The seedlings are still quite young and delicate but we are hoping to be able to add some new plants to our rhubarb patch.
The flower bed around an old tree stump in the front yard is looking good this year. The day lilies were sent to me by my best friend in Kentucky and have taken almost two years to mature. They have buds but I was so excited to see how nice they are growing that I had to take a photo. I will add another post at a later time showing them in bloom.
Until the next posting..............
