First Harvest

It's April!  Gardeners look forward to the first harvest of the season and if you grow asparagus, your first harvest comes early.  We had a very warm February, heavy snow in March, so we were afraid to think what April would bring.  The past two days were unseasonably warm with temperatures in the low 80's, and the asparagus literally grew overnight.  Three days ago, we cut a few nice asparagus spears and put them in a glass of water in the refrigerator.  We guessed that in a day or two there would be enough for a meal. What a surprise when I went out this morning to cut more spears.  The asparagus that was ready to cut filled a loaf size container. Guess what we are having for dinner for the next few days?
