Getting ready for winter

Autumn is here and we are enjoying the crisp, clear days.  The temperature this October is a bit cooler than normal but still enjoyable.  This year the trees aren't showing the brilliant autumn colors but our Blueberry bush is trying to show some color.  We began with three bushes but two are barely alive.  That puts a lot of pressure on this healthy little guy.

The old Strawberry bed has been cleared and will be used for vegetables next spring.  The new Strawberry bed shown here is actually three of the original four foot square beds.  We moved them to this area last year when we needed a place to put the new beds Terry built. We planted these new Strawberry plants towards the end of August or the beginning of September and they are growing nicely. Before the weather gets cold, I will cut off the runners again.  As soon as we finished weeding the last few raised beds and and run the rototiller through them, the garden will be ready for winter.
